DIY Windmill - Weighing the Benefits and Drawbacks

Although a DIY windmill is considered to be very cost effective, there are disadvantages associated with it. Perhaps the most significant one is the battery. Maintaining it is not really costly but tiring, especially if you are the one who has to rewire the batteries. If you do not know how to rewire your DIY windmill battery, what you will need to do is to consult a specialist.

Another disadvantage of having a DIY windmill is the time and energy you put in it. You see, you will spend sometime between one to two weeks building your own windmill. This is juts the normal time you will spend not including time spent for revisions and other things you need to do to come up with a functioning windmill. Perhaps it is clear to say that wind power is something you cannot tap if you live in urban places in which the wind is not strong. Wind power is only applicable to areas that have wide and open spaces so the wind can freely move directly to your turbine.

On the other hand, you will be saving a lot of energy if you tap natural resources to generate power. AS you can see, your dependence on power corporations will significantly decrease if you have something as simple as a wind power generator. The money you will save will be spent on other more important things like health and nutrition.

You will also not get affected if there are power outages. Your neighbors might lose electricity but you have a back up plan that is ready all the time. The only things you need are extra batteries. For as long as your rotor blades are running, you should be able you store energy and use them in times of need only. Keep in mind that a DIY windmill may take time to accomplish. However, the fruits or rewards of your effort will not be in vain.
